This bustling, welcoming financial district tribute to Canadiana Food dotes on dishes that are fresh and prepared with care by chef Carl Heinrich. A recent victor of Top Chef Canada, Heinrich used his $100K purse to open this 80-seat, split-level Eaton Centre neighbour. The vibe here is easy, comfortable and chill, man. The physical space is narrow and quirky, complete with wall shots of the Toronto subway being built in the 1940s, but the cuisine that originates in it is not. An ever-changing blackboard invites diners to consider wide-ranging takes on charcuterie, fresh fish and oysters; entire animals and sides of beef are chopped up on site.
