Staying true to his food philosophy of over twenty years, "Inspired in Italy, Made in Canada", Tony Loschiavo has opened a second Paese Ristorante on King St. West. This ninety-seat modern Italian eatery boasts walnut butcher-block tables and bar, exposed brick walls and an outdoor patio.
Executive Chef Christopher Palik's creative take on Italian food is all hand crafted and house made. Paese is open daily for lunch and dinner and also late into the night with a bar menu of Italian foods with a twist – potato gnocchi poutine, mini calzones and brio-espresso ribs. Enter award winning mixologist Moses McIntee, who uses only the freshest ingredients for his Italianate signature cocktails – saffron Tom Collins and fresh cherry Caipirinhas and you've got a recipe for a fantastic evening.
Paese's innovative seasonal menu has many of its ingredients coming from their very own garden in north Toronto. Menu highlights include warm goat cheese pudding, chicken saltimbocca with sage stuffing and whole grilled fish. Remember to leave room for dessert because the chocolate torta with layers of white chocolate mousse and nutella sauce is spectacular.
Paese's unique wine philosophy is focused on making wine more accessible for their patrons. All bottles are priced at cost plus $25, and guests can bring their own wine and pay no corkage fee on their first bottle, Sunday through Friday. There are over 800 labels to choose from and many wines by the glass. Paese is proud to have two Sommeliers as part of the team. With outstanding food, an approachable wine list and knowledgeable staff, Paese will surely become your favourite neighbourhood spot.
